  How do you get bamboo shoots?

  Bamboo shoots are indispensable for simmered dishes like kamameshi (which translates as kettle rice), and New Year's boxed delicacy 'osechi', but do you know how to get them? Do you dig in the earth in a bamboo grove? What kind of tools do you use?
  Don't worry if you have a lot of questions. Local people will happily teach you.
  It is sure to be a fresh experience for both adults and children!

  In fact, Otaki bamboo shoots are famous in Japan for their low bitterness.
  Why don't you dig such delicious bamboo shoots by yourself and cook them at Marugayatsu? Eat bamboo shoots taken from the mountains in an old wooden house. Would you like to boil them? Make miso soup? Or maybe you would like to roast them slowly on the hearth? I can't help getting excited now!
